You and your companions make your way through the dense jungle, careful to cover your tracks from the lizardfolk search parties.
Taveah takes the lead. Through the brush you find an outcrop of rock and take up defensive positions. You can hear the distant sound of the lizardfolk; their hisses and snarls calling to each other in search of their prey. Kirin dispatches his owl companion to check on the lizardfolk and warn if they begin to move closer. You are safe. For the moment.
As you gather behind the rocks, Sejik channels healing energy and restores Morthos. His armor is torn and bloodied, but Morthos is thankful to be among the living. After a quick discussion you decide to awaken the captured lizardfolk and see if any information can be obtained.
The lizard awakens. His cold reptilian eyes glare at you as he realizes he is both bound and gagged. Morthos removes the gag and speaks to it in Draconic.
“Make a sound and you will die.”
It hisses back in contempt, “I will tell you nothing ssssoft ssskin! I am a ssservant of Rashaak and do not fear you or these infidels.”
Kohl impatiently picks up the Huntmaster by the neck and slams him against a nearby tree. His weapon’s blade presses deep on the Huntmaster’s throat.
“Tell us what we need to know or be ready to make peace with this god, Rhashaak.”
The Huntmaster spits at Kohl.
“Your threatsss mean nothing, infidel. Rhashaak will have his vengeance.”
Kirin, keeping watch through his owl’s eyes, sees one of the search parties move closer to your position.
“They are expanding their perimeter. We must hurry!” he warns.
Sejik recognizes the Huntmaster’s devotion to his god, and knows nothing further will be obtained.
“Kill him. He will tell us nothing further.”
