Morthos returns, locates Sejik and strides towards him, hand outstreached.
“Brother Sejik, may I have the sending stone for Caiphys?”
Morthos takes the stone from Sejik with a nod, and attempts to reach Caiphys “Caiphys…”
[Morthos informs Caiphys of what he has discovered. Caiphys in turn describes his experiences.]
After speaking to Caiphys, Morthos walks over to Caiphys’ owl and places it within his cloak.
He then turns to the rest of those present.
“We are at a crux. Short of a resolution offered by one of you, I have a plan, albeit it is a gamble. As you may have ascertained, I am able to phase. Unfortunatley under normal circumstances I can only perform this feat once per day. When I phased through the floor yesterday, I discovered another chamber, approximately the same dimensions as the one we are in now. This chamber has a set of double doors, that when opened they reveal a wall of solid stone; however the doors appear to have glyphs on the outside intended to interact with something. Also, I have a feeling that the room is designed to move, due to the fissure between the solid stone and the wall of the room just beyond the door jam.”
“What I propose may take as little as 3 days, if fortune is on our side, but likely may take a week or longer. I intend on phasing back to the chamber below, and with the help of Caiphys’ owl hope to ascertain his direction. Once this has been determined, I plan on phasing in that direction with the hope of finding another open space.”
Morthos looks to Sejik.
“Brother Sejik, my plan will require that I have use of the Exodus knife. Should I find Caiphys, it will be needed to return him, and the key to this place…”
Morthos again directs his attention to all present.
“This is my strategy. Now we come to your choice. I can bring you along to the next chamber, or beyond. Just know, that beyond the next chamber, there is a chance that I may find myself locked in solid stone with no way to return, Also know, that unless there is a better option offered, I will proceed either with or without you.”
Predictably, Taveah doesn’t like any of these options.
“It sounds like we need a miracle. Isn’t that your department, cousin?”
Kohl shrugs. “We do need a miracle, or a little bit of luck.”
Taveah sighs, then looks at Morthos. “There’s got to be some way out of here.” She ponders. “Moyshanna obviously did not have the key that Caiphys does, correct? Yet, somehow she made it beyond this point. Doesn’t that indicate an alternate route?”
Morthos looks at Taveah. “Actually we have no proof Moyshanna made it even this far, much less further… The last spot any of us knows she was is back in the hall with the juggernaut where I found Ahti. I will be leaving once again, after I rest. Who will join me? We can use this canvas and the Exodus Knife to give you passage with me.”
[Taveah and Kohl agree to join him. Once Kohl and Taveah are inside the pocket dimension created by the Exodus Knife, Morthos is able to roll up the canvas and freely transport them. Ahti agrees to remain behind with Sejik, though is not happy to be left with the one party member who appears to be slowly losing his mind.]
